Funded by the Language Fund, these activities comprise drama performances and workshops, skipping competitions, television programmes, debating, poetry writing, spelling competitions, and English newspaper reporting and editing, all conducted in English with an aim to raise public interest in the learning and use of English.

While most of the activities will be run within schools, they will eventually be extended to the community with public participation during the Festival period between April and May 2005.
