The "English Festival 2007" marked a successful completion on 7 June, with nearly 20,000 teachers and students participated in various activities. In addition, 780,000 audience have tuned in for the TV programme, "English Everywhere".

We are pleased with the result. We wish the schools would keep up the momentum by adopting activities from the Festival as part of their language education programme.

We will compile teaching and learning materials based on experience and achievements from various activities of the "English Festival 2007" for further use by language teachers. Schools will be informed of more details in due course.

Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to language teachers for their long-standing support to the “English Festival” since its inception in 2005. Without their support, it is almost impossible for us to start such a large-scale festival and eventually make it one of the major annual English events in the town.

We shall strive to organize more English activities in order to create a more motivating language learning environment in Hong Kong. We look forward to your continual support.
