Professor Peto was strongly opposed to a fragmented approach to the therapy and education of children with celebral palsy. He pointed out that children's motor, intellectual and affective development should not be fragmented. They interact to affect children's personality development and their learning in all aspects.
The ultimate aim of conductive education is to promote children's healthy personality development. It integrates learning related to motor, intellect and affect through the establishment of a normal routine and proactive living where children "learn how to learn".
